        were buying my little sister a 14ft trampoline for her birthday. But our whole backyard is stone, we have a small space of grass where the trampoline could fit but its on a slant/hill. Were buying the safety enclosure with it so its safer for her. Besides human safety, will the trampoline be fine on stone, will it run the legs of the trampoline or something? because i always see people put it on grass because its safer for the kids. will the trampoline be fine on sotne ?

          Okay, so my name’s Krystal. All my life I’ve gone to school at this place called Maverix. I’ll tell you a tiny bit about it.

          Okay, so this woman called Mickie bought this old run-down out-of-the-way church that was abandoned and fixed it up, and opened this school. (Maverix, duh)

          Anyway, the place isn’t really a school so to speak. We don’t have a curriculum, but in all the classroom places(there’s one more ages 6-8, one more for ages 9-12, one more ages 13-15, and one all high-school-y. The ages 2-5 one is just an enormous playroom with a ton of toys) there’s a DVD player and a TON of DVDs(all educational) and a bunch of educational books. There’s also a big kitchen stocked with every kind of snack, a big art place stuffed with fabric, markers, pom-poms, pipe-cleaners, glitter, every possible thing, and a library full of old paperback(Mickie has stuffed the entire library from Salvation Army stores, and there are about 6-7,000 books. It’s almost a fire hazard). We all read and watch DVDs, and all score pretty highly on our tests(we take them at the end of the year so Mickie can make sure we all learn enough)

          There aren’t any rules. You can go in whatever room you want and do whatever. No one, and I mean NO ONE bullies anyone. On the third time Mickie hears you say something even slightly nasty that’s not in a teasing, friendly way, you’re asked not to come back. You can show up anytime from 7-4. No one swears. If someone does, Mickie usually shows them all sorts of fancy words and shakespeare quotes to make it so much smarter-sounding. No one is mean, and everyone is nice.

          Outdoors there’s a huge yard that has swing-sets and trampolines, as well as a little shed that has TONS of balls, skipping ropes, hula-hoops, bubbles, etc. The other part has the most amazing flower garden ever. It’s amazing.

          The older kids help the little ones, and it’s just… we’re like a big family. There’s Mickie(who more supervises and plays with us and talk to us than bosses us) Jason and Nicole who are her helpers, then about twenty-five little kids, ten high-schoolers, and thirty people in between(including me).

          Everyone dresses pretty weird and acts pretty weird. We all dress like hippies and almost all of us have severe ADD, ADHD, ODD, OCD, panic disorders or Aspergers and were bullied too much or couldn’t handle school and ended up coming to Mavericks. And here’s an example of what I wear to school- I might wear a T-shirt I’ve covered in Pom-Poms and feathers, a little-kids dress-up ballet skirt, and thick crazy rainbow polka-dot tights, and no one cares. We all get to just be us.

          My mom and dad love Maverix and Mickie as much as I do, but my dad’s job transferred him halfway across the country. The only private school in out area is a Catholic one, and those are so… so CONFORMIST-Y! (Also, Maverix is technically registered not as a private school but a homeschool tutor thingy-mah-bob)

          So, I don’t know how I’m going to do regular school. I’ve never had a strict schedule, we just teach ourselves. And would I be bullied if I dressed crazy and wore way too big clothes and mismatched shoes? And a teacher being all in-charge, and standard tests all the time, and not being able ot just GO wherever you want and having all sorts of rules and not having all ages… I just don’t know how I’ll do it!

          Advice?

          P.S.- I’ll be going into Grade Eight. (Ick, grades all in one room and having to stay in desks for hours… bleh!)

            i leak urine when i jump on a trampoline not a lot but only because i get off the trampoline when it starts to happen. it doesn’t happen with any other excercise i do. i am young and i have never had a child so why does this happen nd how can i make it stop.

              I’m looking to get more large outdoor toys for my two sons. I recently bought a trampoline with the enclosure around the top, and they LOVE it. I’m thinking about getting a swing set next (maybe for their birthdays or Christmas?), but I’m not sure what kind or if that would be best. We already have a sandbox. What large outdoor toys do YOUR kids love? Swing set, playhouse, trampoline, teeter-totter, sandbox, etc.? Any other ideas?

              And, if you don’t mind, about how much did you pay for your outdoor toys and where did you buy them? I don’t want to spend a fortune, but I do want decent quality.
              We already have a kiddie pool, but great idea! :o )

                ok so here is what i did to it. so one day, i was at this party on a lake and we were tubing. we were about to go over a big wave and my left foot was in the water when we went over it and so when we went over the wave the water of corse yanked my ankle down and kept it under the water because of the pressure or whatever and it hurt really bad. and then a few days later, i was at another party and my ankle still hurt but i was jumping on the trampoline anyway and the whole time im thinking please dont roll my ankle please dont roll my ankle because i did it before and i couldnt walk on it at all. i litterally was done jumping, and walking on the trampline to get off and what did i do? i rolled my ankle. it hurt even worse. then the next day i went golfing and accidently wacked that ankle with a golf club (the driver, biggest one). its been like a month. or a little over that and it still hurts when i go up and down stairs and stuff like that. i mean its nothing i cant handle but the fact that it still hurts? should i do something. its not that bad but still. what do you think
                oh and when i move it, it cracks like more than usaul

                  I am in a very unique situation, my husband was dating a woman prior to me that got pregnant. She had cheated on him and thought by admitting it to him that it would help them work through it and move on. My husband was not going to forgive and forget. Shortly after, we met and have been together a little over 4 1/2 years. When the baby was born, my husband was not notified and figured that he wasn’t found to be the father. He was wrong, 2 years ago he was taken to court to find out if he or another guy were the father. He turned out to be the father, and since then has supported her financially which was a promise he made when they split up (pending the dna test). He had intentions to be in her life but when his ex myspace’d his oldest daughter and myself threatening harm to us and our vehicles, he decided that it was better that we (me, his oldest daughter and his youngest daughter) were better off not being in that situation. This was the right decision at the time, but overall has turned out to be a decision that shouldn’t have been made. Shortly after taking him to court for a DNA test, she started to go down hill. She was using drugs, drinking and wanting to party more than take care of her children, son 4 and daughter 2. She would leave the children with anyone who would watch them, friends, boyfriends, aunts, cousins. When finally her aunt decided to take care of the 2 kids. Shortly after she received her 3rd DWI and decided to go to jail for it, and was starting to get investigated by CPS. My husband was not notified of any of this because she would not release the fathers names of her two children. a year of investigation passed when she was court ordered to release the names of the fathers. Once my husband was notified, he hired a lawyer to fight for custody. We are now a year into the fight for custody and the past 3 court appearances, she has not passed drug tests, has not set up visitaion with her kids (atleast not legally, we believe her aunt is letting her see them), even though it is ordered to have 1 hour at the CPS office supervised, she has not attended any parenting classes or medical evaluations that the judge has ordered. The judge keeps pushing to the next court date after lechuring her about her lack of progress to get her kids back. Meanwhile, my husband has attended the classes, passed the drug screens, we have both done a psyco social and he is doing play therapy. Her aunt acts as though she wants to work with us on visitation but we only get her on Sundays and now her aunt is taking her on a trip and we won’t get to see her this week. The court order states that we can get her for any amount of time agreed upon with the aunt, the aunt claims that she is fine with it, but now she says that CPS has to get approval. We have a new caseworker and the caseworker has not contacted us but is in real good with the aunt. Anyways, the mother has stated she is going to give up her rights to the aunt, but does this mean that my husband is going to heve to fight the aunt now for custody? The children were taken from the mother for many reasons, abuse, drugs, neglect, etc. If she stays with the aunt, the aunt will still allow visitation, which shouldn’t be an easy way out for the mother. The mother has stated on many occassions that she wants to be the fun aunt and not the mother, she has said she is going to give up her rights b/c she is tired of the investigation. She just wants to be done with CPS. so, What will her rights be if she signs them over to her aunt? And will my husband have to take the aunt to court for custody of his daughter? His daughter is 4 and loves spending time with us, she loves her new pink and purple room, etc. Everytime we get to see her, the aunt feels like she is losing her so she buys things like a pony (that ended up hurting the kids), a pool, trampoline, slip n slide (b/c we had a playdate with a friend who’s daughter is her age and they had a slip n slide), now she has bought a playground. His daughter told me yesterday that she wants to stay in her room. We have done nothing but comply and exceed what the courts want and yet we feel like the closer we get the harder it is to get to see her. We have never done drugs, or abused anyone, there is no abusive background, both of us came from great families who support us and yet we feel like we are bring investigated and pushed around. Even though she loves spending time with us and wants to stay with us the CASA caseworker says that it doesn’t matter what the child wants, she gets to help decide. I am looking for what we should do next and any other approach we might need to take. If the court order states any time agreed upon, and the aunt tells us she’s ok with it but she says CPS isn’t, should we get our lawyer involved? Are we fighting for a child that we won’t get? If the mother gives up her rights to her aunt, does she automatical
